Our Company

STIHL SHOP Blenheim is the trading name for Croads Motor and Mower Services. The business was established in 1994 but has a heritage of operating in the Marlborough District since 1974. In those days, it was a power equipment store owned by Tim and Ann Rutledge.

In 1994, Neil Croad & his wife Dianne purchased the company from Tim & Ann. In time, the company was rebranded under the name Croads Motor and Mower Services.

Later, David Croad and his wife Julie joined the business. They partnered with a family friend Colin McKenzie and wife Jane to pool their skills and resources in the running of the growing business.

In time, David was ready to move on and he resigned from the company. Shortly thereafter, Steve Metzger and his wife Mandy became the new partners in the business.

In December 2021 Steve and Mandy Metzger became the owners of the business having purchased the shares owned by Colin and Jane McKenzie.

Today, the company continues to be privately owned by the Metzger family.
In 2008/2009, after operating from the original premises on Grove Road for almost 15 years, the company invested in a purpose-built facility at our present location on Redwood Street.

The ground floor of our new facility has a 300 sq.m retail showroom, a large air-conditioned workshop, holding areas and offices. The mezzanine floor houses staff facilities and storage areas.

PURPOSE & MISSION
We believe in the concept of the "Servicing Dealer" - this means that we ONLY sell products we know we can service!

Starting with the First Service, done shortly after the product is sold, and throughout the life of the product, we stand by what we sell and are here to assist as needed.

Our aim is to be Marlborough's preferred destination for the purchase and servicing of Outdoor Power Equipment.
